Chono Sakura Park

Cape Erimo has winds of more than 10 m/s, and is one of Japan's best gale-force areas, blowing more than 260 days a year. A museum with the theme of the wind, it displays the building of wild birds that inhabit the area around Erimo town, and introduces the lives of Erimo people and the relationship of the wind in the video, as well as facilities where you can experience strong winds with a wind speed of 25 m/s. From the observation room, harbor seals can be observed throughout the year. Take one hour.

The Cape, which is a place where the Hidaka Mountains, which have a steep appearance of about 150km in total length in the southern part of Hokkaido, are subducted into the Pacific Ocean. Cape Erimo Lighthouse stands on the cape, and the landscape is magnificent with a rocky reef about 2km from the tip of the cape. It is one of the leading strong winds in Japan, and there is also a "wind hall" from Cape Erimo where you can experience strong winds. There is also a lot of fog because the weather tide, which is warm, and the cold tide, collide with each other offshore. By the way, Cape Erimo is called "Onneenrum (big cape)" in the Ainu language, and in 2010, it was designated as the national Meishatsu Pilika Noka (beautiful · gata) along with Cape Kamui and Mount Horojiri.
