Motoyoshi Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sales Center, Kesennuma

A roadside station facing the Pacific Ocean, which is served by local fishermen with fresh fish and shellfish and fresh vegetables in the morning. The restaurant is popular with its fuka fin ramen, seafood bowl, and fuka fin soft 350 yen made with the fuka fin, a specialty of Kesennuma.

East of Kesennuma Bay, a peninsula about 20km long that juts elongated into the Pacific Ocean. The coastline of the peninsula, designated as Sanriku National Park, is a convoluted Rias-style coast, especially on the eastern coastline, where there are many oddities due to sea-eating, and the geokama-Hanzo's origami stone is a symbol of Karakuwa. The area around Misaki at the tip of the peninsula is dotted with sightseeing spots such as Misaki Lighthouse, Misaki Shrine, visitor center, and tsunami experience hall. The Misaki Kegihama promenade is also maintained from Kōkama Hanzo to Misaki, and in June, you can walk while enjoying the view of Nikkoukisuge and the blue sea. The Karakuwa Town Tourism Association also introduces more than 20 different experiences, including oyster and scallop work experiences, as well as Hattomaker and tsunami experience storytelling.
