As a summer resort for the samurai wounded during the Battle of Nagashino, Ishidanji was built by Takeda Katsuyori in 1576 when he ordered Sanada Masayuki to build it. It is said that it was renovated and extended in 2010, and it became 365 steps with the wish of "prospering 365 days a year".
