Koya Mountain, a religious city built on the mountain at an altitude of 900m, whose iconic sites are the Danjogaran and Kongobuji, a holy site opened about 1,200 years ago by Kobo Daishi.

It is still the place where the Kobo Daishi continues to meditate, and the approach to the road, which lasts for about 2km, is lined with tombstones and memorial towers for many people, including famous warlords from the Sengoku period; and is considered the center of the Koyasan faith, along with the Danjogaran.

A driveway of about 42.7km connecting Okunoin and Ryugami Village, where you can enjoy an exhilarating drive on a mountain winding road surrounded by rich nature; many tourists visit during the autumn foliage season when the mountains are stained; all-day traffic is possible, with winter traffic regulations.
