The 37th Akita Summer Festival Omonogawa Fireworks Festival

A wild and courageous festival where 70-odd Brahma compete for the spearhead in a dingy manner, in an attempt to become the god of power and the god of shugai. It takes place from 10:30 to about noon. A special deity who prays for the best of the year and dedicate the yoyo (yurishishi) known as the Brahma. In an attempt to take the Triangle Protection of Brahma, the gods of God, the visitors also come together together, and the festival reaches its climax.

Shōfuku Inari Shrine, located in the shopping district, is held by the main shrine of the Oji Inari Shrine in Kita-ku, Tokyo, where a procession of the fox for the visit of the main shrine is followed by the event. The makeup of the fox is handled by students from Akita Public Art University, and is performed from time to time to those who wish. The procession will involve more than 100 participants, from child foxes in child costumes to dark foxes and colored foxes.

豊作祈願と病魔を祓う、ねぶり流し行事が結びついた祭り。12m余りの竹に9本の横竹を結び、46個の提灯を吊した50kgもの竿燈を手のひら、額、肩、腰にバランスを取りながらのせていく。竿燈大通りの中央に設けられた観覧席からの眺めは格別で、ゆっくりと竿燈の妙技が見られる。 画像提供：秋田市竿燈まつり実行委員会
