
The 50th Yomiuri Festival
Yomitan Village's largest event, "Yomitan Matsuri", with a total of more than about 80,000 visitors during the two days. A large Ryukyu classical music concert in honor of the legendary figure "Akainko", who is said to be the ancestor of song and three-line music. The main event is "Zongongbune [Shinkosen]", a creative play depicting the Zongong ship trade with China during the Ryukyu dynasty. Taiki, who is said to have crossed into China as the first ambassador to China, appears aboard a huge ship. At the Yomitan Festival, you can experience the gorgeous atmosphere of the Ryukyu dynasty.
