Saga Prefectural Museum

Saga Prefectural Saga Castle Honmaru Historical Hall

天保9年(1838)、佐賀藩10代藩主・鍋島直正が再建した佐賀城本丸御殿の遺構を保護しながら復元。本丸御殿の復元としては日本初で45mの畳敷きの廊下や320畳の大広間があり、御座間は佐賀市重要文化財に指定されている。展示コーナーでは「幕末・維新期の佐賀」をテーマに、佐賀城の復元や日本の近代化を先導した佐賀藩の科学技術、佐賀が輩出した偉人について分かりやすく紹介。
