Oida Sake Brewery Kamisanomachi

A long-established establishment of the Kyoho Year (1716-1736) located in Kamisanno-cho, the center of the "old townscape" preservation district of the National Historic Traditional Buildings. The quaint store, a renovation of the built-in Machiya Tsuchikawa residence of the first year of the Meiji era (1868), sells the abundant underground water of the Hida Mountains, as well as sake and shochu made from the local Hida-Homare and other suitable rice for sake brewing. Honpo Sashiko Hida

A long-established store that manufactures and sells Sashiko products, a traditional craft of Hida. Fukudaya

A long-established traditional craft, Haru Keio, which is made by layering transparent lacquer to make use of the beauty of natural wood grain. Sumima Shoten

An antique store that boasts a large assortment. Ancient folk art, old folk goods, and antiquities collected from all over the country, mainly in the Hida region, are lined up. On the first floor, small items such as ceramics and lighting fixtures are arranged, and on the second floor, large furniture from the Meiji and early Showa eras are arranged.

Shōtoriya Shoten

Only the kimono store, which continued from the Edo period, has an extensive selection of cloth products. The company also sells original large-sized threads from non-bleached yarn 160 yen to dye yarn 480 yen. There are plenty of types of towels, from 450 yen designed for the old town.

A store that has more than 150 kinds of Sarubobo goods, a staple of the souvenir of Hida Takayama.
