Kiraksha

It is located in the roadside station Okuwanai and has a large selection of specialities from Okuwa Village. In particular, there are plenty of cypress products, and popular products such as cutting board, cypress chopsticks Shiraki (5 meals), cypress chopsticks lacquer (5 meals), etc. In addition, the vegetables brought by local farmers are cheap, and above all, the freshness is outstanding. At the tea corner, you can taste Kiso's specialty Gohei rice cakes (3 dishes per dish).

Forespa Kiso

Leisure facilities spread over 25,000 square meters on the slopes of the mountain, including a ground golf course (price: 500 yen), an indoor gym (tennis and gateball), a barbecue cottage, and accommodation facilities such as Forespa Kiso Ajiso.

Road Station Okuwa

In "Kirakusha", which includes fresh vegetables made by local farmers, and a large selection of specialities from Okuwa Village, the popular hiki products include chopping boards, hiki chopsticks Shiraki (5 zeniri) and hiki chopsticks lacquer (5 zeniri). There are also local sake and wine, and 720ml of somazake (somazake), which is flavored with doburoku, is well received. Soft ice cream in the snack corner is also recommended, with royal sweet vanilla and apple flavor. You can also taste Shinshu salmon bowl at the restaurant "Gourmet Rea Kiraku".

Okuwa Village Historical Folk Materials

A materials house built in the traditional hut-kumi technique, using Kiso-five trees such as cypress, sawara and koyamaki. Exhibits include earthenware and stoneware excavated from Jōmon period sites such as "Perforated Burning Pottery with Personnel Decorations" [Jinmen Soshokoroki Yuukotsupatsuki], as well as Manba [Manba] and Ono [Onono]. It takes 20 minutes.

Pepekido Forest Park

In the Nozokido Forest Park, azaleas bloom in the whole area around the administration building from the end of April, and mountain azaleas bloom throughout the park to be replaced from the beginning of May. The campgrounds (Kevin Bungalow, Auto Camp, etc.) are opened every year between the fourth Saturday of April and the fourth Sunday of May and the second Saturday of July and the last Sunday of September. You can also enjoy barbecue, trout fishing, day camping, etc.

Nojiri Inn

外敵の侵入を防ぐため、道を左右にくねらせた「七曲がり」が野尻宿の特徴。木曽十一宿のなかでも、奈良井宿に次ぐ長さがあった。台石[だいせき]にさわるとイボが取れるという南無妙法蓮華経の碑は高札場跡の近くにある。

Suhara-juku

須原宿は正徳5年(1715)に現在の場所に造られた。その際、町幅を5間(9.2m)にして用水路を通し、宿の両側を桝型に、中央を「く」の字に曲げるなど新しい町造りが採用された。江戸時代には桜の花漬とトロロ汁が名物の旅籠が30軒ほど並んでいたという。丸太をくりぬいた水舟や脇本陣が今も残る。

Tsurukame Penglai Garden

定勝寺の庭園。平成14年(2002)の作庭だが、折鶴を模った石組や岬型燈籠[みさきがたとうろう]、石橋が、池のように敷き詰められた白砂に美しく配置されている。遊歩道を巡って四方から鑑賞でき、新緑や紅葉期には一段と趣がある。

Ikeguchi Temple

境内の薬師堂は、徳治3年(1308)の刻銘をもつ銅製の鰐口[わにぐち](正殿の軒下に吊るして鳴らす銅製の音響具)があることから鎌倉時代のものとされる。堂内にある木曽最大といわれる薬師如来座像と、日光菩薩、月光菩薩の立像は、希望があれば拝観可能。薬師堂は、平成22年(2010)、創建当時の姿に復元する事が行われ再建されている。薬師堂と鰐口は共に県宝に指定されている。

Jōshō-ji Temple

室町時代初期に創建された、木曽福島の興禅寺[こうぜんじ]、長福寺[ちょうふくじ]と並ぶ木曽三大寺の最古刹。永享2年(1430)に建てられたが木曽川の氾濫で流失し、慶長3年(1598)に現在地に再興された。現在ある本堂、庫裡[くり]、山門は当時の建物で、昭和27年(1952)に国の重要文化財に指定。本堂内にはウグイス張りの廊下が残され、木曽檜造りの大きな座像「定勝だるま」があることから木曽七福神布袋尊霊場としても知られている。鶴亀蓬莱庭園や山門そばのシダレザクラも見事。
