Aji Valley

木曽川に注[そそ]ぐ阿寺川はヤマメやイワナが生息する美しい清流。渓谷沿いには犬帰[いぬがえ]りの淵や千畳岩などと名付けられた景勝地が点在する。周囲の山は檜やサワラなどの木曽五木に覆われ、かつては木材を運ぶ森林鉄道が走っていた。また、阿寺渓谷[あてらけいこく]キャンプ場もあり、ここには顔を洗うと肌が美しくなるといわれる清水「美顔水」が湧き出ている。林道の終点までは約6km。

House of Hinokasa

桧と竹で作られている桧笠は、350年以上の歴史をもつ民具。寛文2年(1662)、飛騨より伝えられたとされる。その産地として知られる蘭[あららぎ]では、すべて手作業による昔ながらの製法で今も桧笠800~4500円が作られている。蘭桧笠(あららぎひのきがさ)は長野県指定伝統的工芸品だ。

全て国産材から器を作り出す伝統工芸品とダイニングテーブル、椅子、指物家具の専門店。漆の工房もあり、すべて自社で作り上げる。オーダーメイドの器・家具対応可。手挽きろくろ体験(要予約)所要時間1時間料金3000円(税別、送料別途)。

Momosuke Fukuzawa Memorial Hall

電力王・福沢桃介が読書発電所建設のための拠点として建てた別荘で、大正8~13年(1919~24)頃にかけて滞在した。現在の建物は平成9年(1997)に復元したもの。館内では愛人・川上貞奴[さだやっこ]をはじめ、発電所建設に携わった人々の写真や手紙、桃介橋の設計図などを展示している。隣には山の歴史館が立つ。明治33年(1900)に旧妻籠宿本陣跡地に建てられた旧御料局妻籠出張所を移築したもので、木曽の木材の歴史を紹介している。所要15分。

Tenpaku Park

桃介橋を渡った高台にあり、4月中旬から下旬にかけて、公園内をピンクのグラデーションで染め上げるミツバツツジの大群落が有名。毎年約400株がいっせいに濃いピンクの花を開く。「なぎそミツバツツジ祭り」は4月中旬頃に開催。また、園内からは木曽駒ケ岳をはじめとする中央アルプスの眺めもすばらしい。小川の縁には、昭和28年(1953)の蛇抜[じゃぬけ](山津波)の犠牲者を悼む「悲しめる乙女の像」があり、流れ出した大岩の上に置かれている。

Nagiso's three large branches of plum

On the Nakasendo, three prune plums. Ichitotsuka "Ichitotsuka no Ichitotsuka no Itari Ume", which is located at the 78th village of Edo, and "Wago no Etari Ume", which is also designated as a natural monument, which was bred as a garden tree by the brewer Toyama, Meiji 14 (1881) it is a "prune plum in the village of Mitsuno Motochi" with a height of 8m and a circumference of 2.6m that left the great fire of, adding a feeling to the post town.

Persimmon valley

The Kaki-So River, which flows into the Kiso River, has a wonderful waterfall and the valley of the abyss, which stretches for about 8km. The persimmon gorge, which is the mouth of the river, has a stunning landscape of sheer white granite [kakogan] and indigo-colored water. Further down the forest road, and after the Kakisō onsen, there is a house of Soma [Soma], a resting place where a farmhouse from the Edo period was relocated. It is about a 15-minute walk from here to Ushike Waterfall which falls through a rocky channel. It is a hiking trail of about 1 hour and 30 minutes when walking from Jukane Station.

Mitake Ropeway

A ropeway over the middle of Mount Ontake. The six-passenger gondola lifts, with 80 capsule-shaped gondoliers circulating in succession, operate in and out of approximately 20 seconds apart. You can enjoy plenty of aerial walks with a total length of 2330m and an elevation difference of 580m from Kanose Station at an altitude of 1570m to Iimori Kogen Station at the 7th station of Mt. There is also an observation cafe at the summit station and a rooftop observation deck with a mirror deck with heat-reflecting glass strung all over the wall. The mirror deck is a great shooting spot where you can take a unique memorial shot of your own with the view of the mountain, blue sky, and clouds. Alpine decks and alpine botanical gardens with outstanding views are also well received.

Oil Tree Forest Promenade

A forest of natural forest where Kiso Itsuki can be seen; there is a promenade that connects the Hyomataki from the entrance of the bus stop Hyomataki, where you can take a walk while admiring the valley beauty and waterfalls; about 4 hours round trip.

Komorebi Waterfall Uneasy Waterfall

Two beautiful waterfalls of different types in the Awari Mei Forest, a beautiful forest spread over Mitake Mountain. Komorebi Falls falls several steps with a head of 15m. The uneasy waterfall has a height of 30m and a delicacy that flows from the rock surface. Uneasy means that you will not change your appearance forever.
