Fukushima Sekisho Museum

A museum imitating the Sekisho building stands adjacent to the site of the Fukushima Sekisho. The building of the lower, upper, upper, and the interior will also be restored as it is, and the time will be surpassed. In the hall, valuable historical materials such as bills and court books, as well as the weapons of the Sekisho, are exhibited. It takes 15 minutes.

Takase Materials Museum

The Takase family served the Yoyogi-Kiso Daikanyama clan, and also known for the production and sale of the Tokugawa family's elixir "Kiyo Maru" [Kiogan]. She also became a model for Fujimura's novel "The House", as her sister, who was honored by Shimazaki Fujimura, was married to her. The Dozō, which was rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1927, is open to the public as a museum. In the hall, you can see Fujimura's letters, the remains, the items that appear in the novel, as well as military documents that are transmitted to our family. It takes 10 minutes.

Kiso Local Hall

It is a small local hall converted from a dozo, and stands behind the Kiso Educational Hall. Inside the museum, the first floor is an exhibition of research and research objects such as earthenware and taxidermy [Hakusei], and the second floor is an art room with works and books by Tsuruzo Ishii, a sculptor who was active from Taisho to Showa. In addition, 41 first-edition books by Shimasaki Fujimura are also available. A literary monument of Fujimura's "Before the Dawn" stands at the entrance of the school hall.

Gardens

There are four gardens in the temple. Shōryūtei is seen to the left immediately after entering the Imperial Palace. It powerfully expresses the legend of the dragon transmitted to the Yellow River in China. The garden of Shimisen next to the treasure hall is a representation of the Buddhist view of the universe. Kanyuntei, which is said to have the largest size in the East in the Karesansui style, is a elegant garden reminiscent of sacred peaks scattered in the Yunhai. Manmatsu Garden is a garden of the Ikeizumi Kanjo ceremony that was built in the middle of the Edo period.

Tsukiyama Quan Water Garden

A small garden attached to the Joyo residence in the Yamamura Daikanyashiki, built with a borrowed view of Mount Komagatake, with its ink-painting quaint and serenity; and the Kiso Daikan, a symbol of the style and power of the Yamamura family, who were also the direct ministers of the shogunate.

Tomb of Kiso Yoshinaka

It is located to the northeast of the Kōzen-ji precinct. Yoshinaka Kiso left this world at the age of 31, when he was defeated by the warlords of Gensuke and others. Just before his death, this grave contains the hair that Yoshinaka entrusted to Tomoe Gozen.

Seongshan Nature Trail

As you walk up the slope next to the Kiso Fukushima local hall, the boardwalk leads up to Gonnin Falls. It is a good hiking course overlooking the male figure of Mt. Komagatake and Kiso-cho. You can enjoy the blue and clear flow of the Kiso River and the green nature. It is 2.5km to Gonin Falls, a journey of about 1 hour and 30 minutes. From here, the Gonin Falls promenade continues to the Gyoin Bridge, where the view of the cliffyard houses is good.

Fukushima Sekisho Site

The Fukushima Sekisho, located on the cliff of the Kiso River at the eastern end of Fukushima-juku, is located almost at the center of Nakasendo. During the Edo period, it was regarded as one of the important points along with Hakone and Niiki on the Tōkaidō and Usui on the Nakasendō, and was famous for its heavy crackdown. The regal sekisho, which is 45m east-west and 30m north-south, was demolished after the abolition of the sekisho in 1869, but has been maintained as a historic site park based on excavations in 1975.

Yamamura Daikanyashiki

A portion of the mansion of Mr. Yamamura, who served as the Sekisui of Fukushima Sekisho and also served as the Kiso Daikan, was released in conjunction with his holdings. The mansion at that time was spread over the entire area of the adjacent Fukushima Elementary School site, but only the Joyo residence, which was part of the lower mansion, and the attached garden, and part of the stone wall of the main residence. The Joyo House is a building rebuilt in Kyoho 8 (1723), and consists of several rooms centered on a room built by a school building. In one room, the guardian god of the Yamamura family, a fox that is sung by the tree, and a foxes that are worshiped, and the foxes are worshiped. The Shosai Suishan Tower of Ishizaku Kōishi, a Chinese scholar of the Yamamura family's vassal, is also located on the site. It takes 15 minutes.

Akazawa Forest Railway

The Torco train, commonly known as "Rintetsu"; the railway that ran from 1916 to 1975 and laid the cornerstone of Kiso's forestry industry; and is now running back and forth on the restored track for tourism.
