Picture Island Surrounding House

Eshima (1681-1741), who was one of the maids of Ooku and climbed to the old age, became a long-distance [onuru] from Edo to Takato on the grounds that he broke his curfew at a play show and a banquet during the grave visit of the 6th Shōgun Ienori. For 27 years, until he ended his life at the age of 61, he would be confined to an enclosed house. The residence of the time was reproduced on the site of the history museum based on a view and is open to the public. It is said that only two meals in the morning and evening (one soup and one dish) were not allowed to read or interact with the outside, and he lived a very frugal life. The shirkness of the surrounding wall speaks of its harshness.
