Skishan Kogen SKYPARK Ski Area

Fog Bell Tower

As the name suggests, the Kirikamine is often covered with deep, thick fog, and in 1959, a fog bell tower was installed at the top of Frogbara to inform hikers of direction on a dense fog day. The tower, which is also a landmark for trekking on a foggy day, is inscribed with the lyrics "The bells are the foggy and the bells are the foggy," by the novelist Taiko Hirabayashi, from Suwa.
