Tanukikoji Shopping Street

A shopping street that runs for about 1km east and west, with a street between South 2 and 3 Articles. It was born in the wake of the construction of a government building of a pioneer ambassador on Nishi 5-chome around 1873. About 200 stores are open, and there are various specialty shops such as shops for young people from long-established stores. There are also arcades in almost the entire area, so you can shop slowly in rain or snow.

Sapporo TV Tower

A tower adjacent to the east side of Odori Park. It was built in 1957 as a point for receiving and transmitting radio waves, but is now used as a tourist facility. From the observation deck, which is about 90m above the ground, you can enjoy 360-degree panoramic views. It overlooks Teinayama and Okurayama Schanze to the west, and the Toyohira River and Ishikari Plain to the east. It is also popular as one of the leading observation spots in Sapporo. There is also a souvenir shop and a restaurant that also sells popular character "TV Dad" goods. During the "Sapporo White Illumination" held from late November to late December, a large number of tourists visit.

Black slide mantra

Created by world-famous sculptor Isamu Noguchi, it is a slide of circular monuments made of black granite.

Honkami Tanuki Taimei Shrine

The guardian deity of the Tanukikoji shopping district, which is served on the west 5-chome of Tanukikoji, and the Mizukake Tanuki Jizo with a round belly that sticks out.

Hokkaido University Information Center "Elm Forest"

Information center near the main gate of Hokkaido University. The building is full of warmth of trees and is also designed for environmental and energy saving measures and barrier-free. The center includes an information counter, a public relations magazine reading corner, a hall, and a gallery. There are also "Cafe de rice", which has a special menu that focuses on ingredients from Hokkaido University such as vegetables and beef, and "Hokkaido University Original Shop", which is popular with original goods.

Bensai-tei

Ekiben's store, which has six stores in Sapporo Station. There are three big crabs, such as the golden trio of king crabs, hairy crabs and snow crabs 1300 yen, and Higuma no Sasa Sushi 1100 yen stuffed with five kinds of sasa sushi. Aka Kakimeshi 1100 yen, which contains plenty of oysters from Lake Saroma, is a hot product that can be eaten hot because it is a container with a heat-generating function.

JR Tower

The JR Tower, which consists of 600 shops, a cinema with 12 screens, and an observation room, is one of the largest commercial complexes in Japan. From the JR Tower Observation Room T38 on the top 38th floor, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city and the night view of the center of Sapporo, which is full of nature. There is also a ramen theme park "Sapporo Ramen Republic" in Esta.

Hokkaido Sapporo "Food and Tourism" Information Hall

Food and sightseeing information building located just off the JR Sapporo Station west exit ticket gate. There is a tourist information center where you can listen to tourist information not only in Sapporo but also in various parts of Hokkaido, and a souvenir shop called "Hokkaido Dosanko Plaza Sapporo". It has also installed ATMs and currency exchange machines for Seven Bank.

Hokkaido University

Hokkaido University, which opened in 1876 as the Sapporo Agricultural School, played a major role not only in the field of agriculture but also in the cultivation of Hokkaido. The Sapporo campus is about 38 Tokyo Domes. On the site, a number of historic buildings are also left, especially the Furukawa Auditorium and the College of Agriculture, which are worth seeing (tours only for exterior). The feature is that it is surrounded by rich nature such as large trees of Harnile and poplar, so you can enjoy a unique atmosphere just by walking around the premises.
