A variety of art works are scattered around the island, and you can enjoy watching the art while walking. Scenery such as beautiful coastline and long-lying settlements is also one of the highlights. Let's enjoy Sakujima gourmet with plenty of grace of Mikawa Bay.

How to get to the remote island of Saku

Since Sakujima is a remote island, we will go to the island using a ferry from "Isshiki Port" in Nishio City. Let's check how to get there first.

It takes about two hours from Nagoya Station to Sakujima by public transport. First, head to Nishio Station, and from there, move to Isshiki Port. The liner from "Isshiki Port" is served seven flights a day, and stays at Sakujima's "West Port", then "East Port". The duration is 20-25 minutes. Depending on the spot you want to go around and the walking route, choose whether to disembark at West Port or East Port.
The onshore distance between West Port and East Port is approximately 2km, and can be moved by walking; or can also be rotated by bicycle rental.

[Access]
* For public transportation
[Nagoya-shi → Nishio Station] About 25 minutes from "Meitetsu Nagoya Station" to "Shin-Anjo Station" on the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line Limited; and about 20 minutes from "Shin-Anjo Station" to "Nishio Station" on the Meitetsu Nishio Line Express.
[Nishio Station → Isshiki Port] Take the Meitetsu Eastern Transportation Bus from Meitetsu Nishio Station, arrive at the boat stop for Sakushima, about 30 minutes
[Isshiki Port → Sakujima] 20 minutes to the west port of Sakujima and 25 minutes to the east port by ferry from Isshiki Port

[Major spots]
Near West Port: Ohirune House, Benten Salon, Black Wall West Settlement, Kleingarten
Near East Port: Minshuku/Canteen, East House, Tsutshima/Oshima, Bathing Beach, Sea God

Enjoy the island of art with a tour of the works on the island

"Ohirune House" A work that allows you to experience the scenery, sea breeze, and wave sound of Mikawa Bay (Photo provided) Nishio City, Aichi Prefecture

The name of the work "East House" is located in the East area. "Ohirune House" can be seen on the opposite bank (Photo provided) Nishio, Aichi Prefecture

Sakushima is called the island of art because there are 22 works on the island and two on the mainland (Isshiki Port), a total of 24 art works.
