Oshino Mura at the northeastern foot of Mount Fuji, halfway between Lake Yamanaka and Lake Kawaguchi. There are eight spring-fed ponds, \"Oshino Hakkai\", which have a source of water in the underground water of Mount Fuji. It is believed that the spring waters of the Oshino-Hakkai are sprung up after about twenty years, when rain and snow falling on Mount Fuji soaking into the mountain skin, which is composed of lava. Its water boasts outstanding clarity, so much so that the fish and water grass swimming in the pond seem to float in the air. You can clearly view the bottom of the pond.
The eight ponds enshrine each of the eight ponds, the guardian deity Ry\u016bjin (Hachidai Ry\u016b\u014d), since it was once a sacred place where Fujikoshinja devotees aspiring to climb Fuji perform Misogi. Beautiful pond with irises in early summer. There remains a legend in which his wife, who prayed for her husband's illness, received a telling that if she wrapped the irises from the pond on her husband's body, she would be cured. Okamaike is small but deep. There is a sad saying that the sisters who used to do laundry in this pond were pulled into the water by a huge frog. The god is Batsunanda Ryuo. It is said that he was being worshiped during the rain begging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deguchi Inari Daimyojin is enshrined on the banks of the pond<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

It is the largest pond in the Oshino Hakkai, located away from the center area. The water that springs from under the lava has been considered a clean spirit water since ancient times, and it is said that the people who went to climb Fuji prayed for safety and carried it.
