
Mackerel road
A long time ago, the Wakasa Kaido brought the fortune of Wakasa Bay to the capital of Kyoto. Also known as "Maku Kaido", a large number of hawkers come and go. As the mackerel with the beach salt was carried, the salt was soaked and the taste increased, creating a food culture called mackerel. Along National Route 367 on the former Wakasa Kaido, there are still shops of Myozushi.
