Mushirose

A museum where you can learn the history, folklore and nature of Tokunoshima. "Yui" is the spirit of help and encouragement that the people of the island have cherished for a long time. On the first floor there is a diorama to introduce the highlights of the island, which is a reference for sightseeing. In the history corner, the story of Saigō Nanshu during the period when he lived in Tokunoshima, and the relationship between Tokunoshima and Ryukyu are described.

On the ground straddling the towns of Amagi and Tokunoshima, there is also the Naoko Road Monument, which was built on the practice course of the Sydney Olympic gold medalist Naoko Takahashi. The monument is inscribed with figures and records of Naoko Takahashi players during the active period.

The terrain formed by a raised reef, eroded by rough surf over a long period of time. Cliffs, caves, and caves continue along the coastline, which spans about 1km. Particularly eye-catching is the "Glasses Rock", which is lined with two large caves. Some places are lined with swordlike rocks reminiscent of a heap of hell. In addition, the observatory was completed in 2014, and the view of the sunset on the horizontal line from there attracts visitors. Every year from December to April, humpback whales appear in the waters near Tokunoshima for raising children.
