It was built in the first year of Kanei (1624), and was rebuilt at its current location in the year of Genroku (1688-1704). The human skeleton Jizo-son of Shiniwagami is famous. It is a polar-colored Jizo-son with a height of 4m33cm, and the white part of the face, neck, chest, both hands and both feet is painted with human bones of a Buddha that no one will ever worship. There is also a house of furniture (Jububutsudo), which houses self-portrait drawings of the Heart Iwakaijin, Nembutsu books, and Raikei maps, and a garden with beautiful camellia, buttons, and hydrangeas.

The Shingon sect temple, which is the guardian main temple of Maeda Toshiie of Kaga Hyakumangoku, is the temple of the Mari Shiten, one of the Japanese Three Mari Shiten, and is a must-win prayer site where the Hōma Shōjō is held every morning; and the Kanazawa City designated view point.

About 3km south of the city, a famous temple of the Soto sect adjacent to the Nodayama cemetery where the people of the Kaga Maeda family and Saisei Murou sleep. The 20,000-square-meter precinct is equipped with the Shichido Gai-do in the style of the Zen sect, such as the mountain gate, the Buddhist temple (National Designated Important Cultural Property), and the zazen temple, and a large number of cloud water still encourages training, giving a solemn atmosphere. Known as the temple of zazen, there is a kind instruction in the public in zazen every morning.
