
Imamiya Shrine
Nikko Futarayama [Futara-san] The three gods of the shrine were enshrined in the Gosho Forest. Mibuzunafusa [Mibutsu Nafusa], who built Kanuma Castle, was subjugated to the present ground in the third year of Astronomy (1534). You can see the sculpture on the main shrine, Tang Gate. The Kanuma Autumn Festival, which takes place every October, is a nationally designated Important Intangible Cultural Property. 20 A few plush sculpture stalls renege on the precinct of the shrine, and the festival culminates and swells. On December 1, 2016, "Kanuma Imamiya Shrine Festival Street Festival" was listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site.
