The 35th Eino Gossai Festival

A citizen marathon running while enjoying the nature of Waiwa while the scent of new tea drifts. There are three courses: a full climbing course (18km), a refreshing course (5km), and an easy course (3km) aiming for Mt. Eligibility for participation is elementary school students and above on the day of the Games, and the full climbing course is high school students and above.

Along both sides of the town's central shopping street, approximately 1.3km long, around 400 stalls line the riverside market, which is said to have started during the Tenmei era, boasting a history of about 230 years. In addition to the shopping street, special venues host a flea market, a Buddhist altar festival, a Kyushu antique market, and a gourmet festival. Aiming for a "Heartfelt Market," there are plenty of street performances including banana sales, balloon art, and chindon parades, providing enjoyment throughout the day. *Please note that during the event period, National Route 225 will experience heavy traffic from around 10 AM to 2 PM.

The venue is Shimizu Iwaya Park. The ball-throwing competition, which started in 2009 with a total prize money of 600,000 yen, has become a popular event with increasing participants each year. There is also a costume award, so those who love cosplay should definitely join. Additionally, the JA Minamisatsuma Agricultural Festival will be held, with booths related to agriculture set up as well.
