From Haneda Airport to Yamagata Airport, about 55 minutes to 1 hour.
[Railway]
From Ueno Station to Yamagata Station on the JR Yamagata Shinkansen Line "Tsubasa", approximately 2 hours 35 minutes to 2 hours 52 minutes. The Japan Rail Pass requires an additional fee when using the Gran Class.
[Car]
About five hours from Yoga IC to Yamagata Zao IC by Metropolitan Expressway/Tōhoku Expressway/Yamagata Expressway.
[High-speed bus]
Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu to Yamagata Station for about 6 hours and 10 minutes.

From Osaka International (Itami) Airport to Yamagata Airport about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes.
[Railway]
Take the JR Tōkaidō Shinkansen "Nozomi" train from Shin-Osaka Station to Tokyo Station for about 2 hours 21 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes. For access from Tokyo Station to Yamagata Station, refer to the Tokyo traffic column. About 5 hours and 55 minutes in total.
