Xuan Palace

It stores and displays art and crafts, as well as ancient documents, and other items that were introduced to the Iy family of the Hikone feudal lord who was the chief of the fudai daimyō. In addition to displaying daimyō tools such as kōjō, known as "Ii no Akaikōjō", and Noh costumes and tea utensils at constant intervals, they also hold theme exhibitions, planned exhibitions, and special exhibitions once a month. The building is a restoration of the Hikone Castle Omote Goten, and the daimyō culture can be experienced by the living rooms and gardens of the lord, which were recreated in the Edo period, and the relocated and restored Noh stage of the Edo period. It houses Hikone Fingbō (a national treasure).

The residence of the former Hikone clan, the Ii family, 350,000 stones. In Genwa 8 (1622), it was completed in about 20 years by Naotsugu Ii and Naotaka. It is said to have been relocated from Nagahama Castle, centering on the three-tiered and three-story castle tower (national national treasure), and Taikomen (national designated important cultural property) where drums for signals inside the castle were placed, many highlights remain, such as the Genya Rakuen (national designated Meishō), a daimyō garden that is said to be patterned after the Omi Hakkei. You can visit the inside of the castle tower. From the top floor, you can see Lake Biwa under the view.

At the same time as the castle tower, it is located in a location that overlooks the castle town, and has a good feeling like a teahouse on the pass. You can also hear the sound of the temple treasure bell, which was selected for Japan's 100 sound scenery at 9, 12, 15.
