Taga Taisha (Oga-san)

The shop's specialty is the 10-piece Ito-kiri mochi, wrapped in a rice cake with thin red and blue lines on a white background, priced at 850 yen. It is said that this name comes from the practice of cutting it with shamisen strings instead of knives, wishing for longevity.

When it comes to Otaga-san's top specialty, it is, of course, the Ito-kiri mochi starting at 700 yen. Made with 100% rice flour instead of glutinous rice, it has a smooth texture. Its gentle flavor, which warms the heart, is well-regarded. The history of this mochi is very old; it is said to have been first made by the people celebrating peace when they defended against the Mongol invasions during the Kamakura period. The taste of this long-established shop, with over 100 years of history, is perfect for souvenirs.
