In order to protect the "Manno Botaru", a type of Minamoto Botaru, which inhabits the area around Manen Pond, and to observe its appearance, it was maintained just below the Manen Pond embankment. As you go along the promenade that leads to Manan Pond, you can see the Manan Pond, registered Tangible Cultural Property of the Agency for Cultural Affairs.

The specialty of a long-established wagashi shop with over 150 years of history is the Daishi Manju. The sake-steamed manju has been loved by pilgrims visiting the 88 sacred sites of Shodoshima. The sweetness of the smooth red bean paste is moderate, and the freshly steamed ones, with steam rising, are particularly delicious. 10 pieces for 750 yen, 6 pieces for 440 yen, and 1 piece for 70 yen (all prices exclude tax).
