Space LABO (Kitakyushu City Science Museum)

Displays the history of how Kitakyushu City became a "town of the environment" and what initiatives are currently being undertaken regarding the environment in an easy-to-understand manner. Additionally, visitors can learn about global environmental issues and local eco-friendly practices in a fun way. One of the largest natural history and history museums in western Japan that displays the history of nature and human life on a grand scale from the birth of the earth 4.6 billion years ago to the modern age. Skeletal specimens of powerful dinosaurs are lined up together, and you can experience the ancient world in a moving dinosaur diorama. In addition, valuable historical materials are also enriched, and it is possible to know the transition of people's lives. By transferring to the cable car and slope car, you can reach the summit of Sarakura Mountain at an elevation of 622m in about 10 minutes. From the observation deck at the summit, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view during the day and the night view selected as one of Japan's three great night views and a sacred place for lovers, featuring a $10 billion nightscape. There is also a restaurant that displays a giant 200-year-old, 3-meter-tall Queen Cedar stump. The first-floor deck is embedded with stones that glow at night, creating a starry sky effect.
