Iki Yukawa Onsen

It is said that Emperor Ojin was immersed in Iki/Yunomoto Onsen in Koyu, which has a history of more than 1500 years. This hot spring is a one-day hot spring facility managed by Hotel Island Iki. There is a single-sex public bath and eight private baths. It is a hot spring that flows from the source of the hot spring and is popular with many local people.

Founded in 1899, this is the oldest sake brewery on Iki Island, boasting a history of over 120 years. Iki shochu, made by mixing barley and rice koji in a 2:1 ratio, is characterized by its subtle sweetness. This brewery continues the traditional ceramic pot brewing method and produces flavorful shochu through atmospheric distillation. The representative brand is Isshu, with an alcohol content of 25 degrees, priced at 1557 yen for 720 milliliters. The brewing warehouse is open for free tours at any time, and the shop next to the brewery sells shochu and offers tastings.

Ikki is the birthplace of barley shochu. Genkai Shuzo's "Barley Shochu Ikki" inherits an old tradition and has been crafted with unceasing creativity and ingenuity since its establishment in 1900 (Meiji 33), resulting in authentic barley shochu. "Barley Shochu Ikki" is a distilled spirit like whiskey and brandy, and its aroma, texture, and the fact that it does not cause hangovers have been reevaluated, gaining popularity among enthusiasts nationwide. Additionally, the WHO established a geographical indication on July 1, 1995, designating three regions nationwide, with "Ikki Shochu" being one of them. The representative brand is the aged "Ikki Super Gold 22," 720 milliliters for 1480 yen. The museum next to the factory displays old sake-making tools. After a free factory tour, visitors can also enjoy tastings.
