Phoenix Kabuki

A festival that tells Hida Road of spring. It is said to be based on the performing arts of rice play (dagaku) since the Middle Ages to celebrate the good harvest of rice in advance, and a local young crowd called a dancer wears a colorful flower hat and dances with an ancient style. Also called "Hanagasa Festival". At the climax of the festival, "Yuzengasa" and "Akahaku Dango", which are considered to be lucky charms, are thrown at the audience. Three thousand candle lights and ten thousand LED bulbs are lit on the night of Christmas Eve. A wish for world peace is also included. The stage of Shiraunza is a nationally designated Important Tangible Cultural Property. Amateur Kabuki, which began as an entertainment for rural people, is performed in a lively manner until late at night. Adult plays are drawn into hot performances and can be seen, while elementary school children's kabuki is adorable.
