Japan Zeon is a so-called chemical manufacturer that makes rubber and plastic from oil. A distinctive feature of the company is that it makes the materials used in the final product, such as car tires and smartphones, so it has a long product life and a stable business. In addition, there are materials that are the number one in the world and materials that can only be made by Zeon, and we are actively developing our business base not only in Japan, but also overseas such as Europe, Asia, North America and South America.
The Tsuruga plant produces Zeonor Film (ﾞｵﾙｨｨ) using cycloolefin polymer produced by the Japan Zeon Mizushima Plant as the raw material. This film is called optical film and is used in various display devices such as large-size TVs, smartphones, and tablet PCs. At the Tsuruga plant, films are produced by the world's first melt extrusion method, and this method is a revolutionary method that does not use solvents, as well as a very environmentally friendly method. The type of optical film has reached a high advantage in the world's optical film industry, with vertical stretching, horizontal stretching, and oblique stretching.

■ Cement business
We manufacture and sell products such as cement, ground improvement material, tancal, quartzite powder, and PCM. The Gifu business office also sells limestone for mining. These products are shipped to local Fukui Prefecture, as well as to the Hokuriku, Kansai and Sanin regions.

While the cement industry requires a lot of energy using natural resources such as limestone, coal in its manufacturing process, on the other hand, it is one of the few industries that can handle and reresource waste and by-products of other industries in a stable and safe manner. By resourcing waste and by-products as alternatives to raw materials, we are trying to reduce the amount of use of natural resources.
