Yukata Masuda Festival - Passing on the excitement of those days to the next generation -

By showcasing the dances honed daily by the Masuda City Iwami Kagura Kanwa Association, this event aims to express gratitude to the local community, promote the preservation of the traditional performing art of Iwami Kagura, and foster successors. Starting in Reiwa 7 (2025), this festival, which has traditionally been held in December, will be conducted in May as part of the "MASUDA Iwami Kagura WEEK," coinciding with the "Iwami Kagura Day (May 20)" recognized as a Japan Heritage. One cherry tree at Edhigan, which is designated as a natural monument in Shimane Prefecture. Every year in the spring, many tourists and photographers come from outside the city and outside the prefecture. At the Cherry Blossom Festival, there are also performances of Ishimi [Iwami] Kagura and Children's Kagura, food and drink booths, and local specialty products for sale (10-15).

A festival of saunbun, where famous people and young men of Masuda city sow beans in prayer for the safety of the family, no illness. There are also performances of Ishimi Kagura. Takatsu Kakimoto Shrine was built on Kamoshima under the edict of Emperor Shōmu, but was built in Matsuzaki due to the collapse of the Great Tsunami of Manju 3 years (1026). It was relocated to the present day by Tsuwano feudal lord Kamika Kamei, although it was built about 650 years old. The Tamemaki Shrine is held at 11 o'clock and 15:30.
