Take the JR Tōkaidō Shinkansen "Nozomi" train from Tokyo Station to Kyoto Station approximately 2 hours 7 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes. Transfer from Kyoto Station to Nara Line to JR Nara Station about 44 minutes to 1 hour and 21 minutes. Total about 3 hours 12 minutes to 3 hours 55 minutes. The Japan Rail Pass requires an additional fee when using Nozomi.

From the Tokyo IC on the Tōmei Expressway/Shin-Tōmei Expressway/Ise Gan-do/Tōmei-do/Tōmei-do/Meihan-do/Nishi-Meihan-do about 5 hours and 35 minutes by Koriyama IC.

Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu to JR Nara Station for about 8 hours and 5 minutes.

It takes about 54 minutes from Shin-Osaka Station to Nara Station on the JR Osaka East Line/Kansai Main Line; Japan Rail Pass is available.

Suita IC to Horai IC by Meishin Expressway/Kinki Expressway/Hanshin Expressway/Daini Hanna Road for about one hour.
[High-speed bus]
It takes about 1 hour and 17 minutes from Osaka International (Itami) Airport to Nara Station.
