Mikata Five Lakes are the five lakes that span Mihama-cho and Wakasa-cho, Fukui Prefecture: Mikata Lake, Lake Suigetsu, Lake Kugoko, and Lake Hyuga. It is a group of natural-rich lakes registered in the Ramsar site, and the largest of the five lakes, Suigetsu Lake [Suigetsuko] and the smallest Sugako Lake [Sugako] can be enjoyed from the lake. Set sail with two or more adults, and small dogs can board together. It takes about 40 minutes to and from Seamount [Umiyama] Pier. The recommended seat of a catamaran-style ship with the image of a steamboat is an open deck on the second floor where you can feel the refreshing breeze of the lake. The first floor is air-conditioned.

A parking area adjacent to the country-designated Meishatsu "Mikata Five Lakes". An up-and-down PA and a down-line PA are adjacent to each other, and the facility is shared by both. An observation deck is set up on the site of the downhill line, giving a panoramic view of Lake Mikata, one of the five lakes designated by the Ramsar Convention. Barmkuchen "Wakasa Balm", a long-established Western confectionery store with a store on National Route 27 along the Maizuru-Wakasa Expressway, is recommended for souvenirs. It uses locally produced "Momiji eggs" and has a nostalgic taste.
