Infinite hermitage

A communal bath that symbolizes Yamanaka Onsen, boasting a history of 1300 years since its opening. Located in the center of the Yamanaka Onsen town, the bath's name is derived from Matsuo Basho's poem "Yamanaka ya, kiku wa taoraji, yu no nioi," written during his visit to Yamanaka on the "Oku no Hosomichi" journey. The bathhouse consists of separate buildings for men and women, with the women's bath adjacent to the Yamanaka-za, where visitors can enjoy the song and dance of "Yamanaka-bushi." The bathing area features a single hot spring bath, with a depth of 1 meter, and the women's bath has a step within the tub. A popular attraction is the onsen tamago (hot spring egg) made in the hot water pot in front of the men's bath entrance. It is recommended to purchase eggs at the men's bath reception and enjoy them on-site after boiling for about 40 minutes.

山中温泉街に沿って流れる大聖寺川に架かるこおろぎ橋近くにある精肉店。和牛などの精肉はもちろん、メンチカツやチキンカツなどの惣菜類が人気。なかでも県内外から訪れる客の目当ては、手作りの牛肉コロッケ。和牛ブレンドと北海道産男爵芋で作るコロッケは、ジャガイモの食感がしっかりとあり、ボリューム満点だ。イートインコーナーで揚げたてのアツアツをどうぞ。

A butcher shop located near the Koorogi Bridge, which spans the Daishoji River flowing along Yamanaka Onsen town. In addition to high-quality wagyu beef, popular items include menchi katsu and chicken katsu. Among them, handmade beef croquettes are a favorite among visitors from both inside and outside the prefecture. The croquettes, made with a blend of wagyu and Hokkaido-produced Danshaku potatoes, have a firm potato texture and are very filling. Enjoy them hot and freshly fried at the eat-in corner.
