Roadside Station

A roadside station that stands along National Route 207, facing the Ariake Sea. The "Tarafukukan", which sells specialty products of Tara, also has an abundance of fresh vegetables, as well as fruits brought from neighboring orchards. In particular, tangerines in winter are a specialty of Tara, and rare rare species are also available. Processed products such as honwasabi and wasabi dressings from Tara-cho are also well received. In the "Fisherman's Hall", Haisin Champon is popular. For souvenirs, the nori of the Ariake Sea, which boasts the highest production in Japan, is recommended.

Ooshima Shrine, which on the map is located on a straight line connecting Mt. Tara and Okinoshima. It is reminiscent of the natural philosophy that the main industries of Tara-cho, agriculture and fishing (mountain and sea), are interrelated. The underwater torii is popular among tourists as a mysterious shooting spot because you will not get tired of seeing the scenery that changes in various ways due to morning, evening, moonlight, starry sky, and tide.

国道444号沿いにある平谷温泉を引く立ち寄り温泉。山里のひなびた雰囲気が魅力。展望浴場からは能古見渓谷を望み、露天風呂や2つの家族風呂もある。食事は同経営の日本料理 落柿がある。また、令和7年(2025)12月に平谷温泉に併設して「ONSEN COFFEE 湯屋」をオープンした。
