Mikasa Railway Memorial

Roadside station along Route 12, the first registered national highway in Hokkaido. Inside the station, a giant water wheel with a diameter of 10m is marked, and there is a "nong no kan", where you can learn about the history of agricultural settlement in Mikasa. A hot bath facility and a park golf course are also attached, and the main facility, "Farm Center", sells city tourist information and specialty products such as apple juice. At the "Ramen Daruma and Mikasa" in the center, ramen with rich deliciousness and a hearty karaage with original sauce are well received. In the "Shoku no Kura", an outdoor stand-up stand, local vegetable direct sales and coal zanagi nagodō shops are lined up.

A hilly winery that opens a direct sale shop only on weekends on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. From the cultivation of grapes to almost manual brewing is done here, producing a small but high quality wine. A limited wine that takes time to age and is released after summer is also popular.

About 1000 fossils from Hokkaido are exhibited, mainly at 600 ammonites, and it is known as Japan's best ammonite museum. Fossils that are not in the case, including Japan's largest ammonite (diameter 1.3m), can be touched freely. As fossils of large reptiles from Hokkaido, the skull of Ezomikasaryu (a country-designated natural monument), a type of mosasaurid family, the tailbone of a tyrannosaurus family, the skull of a nodosaurid family, the arm bones of a pterosaur, and the fragments of a red-tailed dragon are on display. In addition to fossils, there are also exhibits on the local history of Mikasa City, such as coal mines.
