Tsutsumi plum complex
During the Heian period, when Minakata Fujiwara, known as a poet, was posted as Mamoru Mutsu, Okawara-cho, who was later called "Umega Eeso [Umegae Eso]" for his chants of Ōkawara's plums into waka. It was the beginning of planting plum seedlings in the Tsutsumi area to increase food production in the early Showa era before the war, and it is still known as "Ume no Sato". Over 3,000 plums, such as "Shirakaga" and "Nantaka", are planted in an area of about 60,000 sq m currently, and the harvested plums are processed into plums such as plum and plum juice. Tsutsumi Mei Complex is private land, and you can visit it with moderation for the fields that produce plums.
