Statue of Hachiko
Chung Inu Hachiko was born in Ōkan in 1923, and Akita Inu. He became famous because he continued to wait for his master at Shibuya Station even after his owner's death, and the movie "Hachikōsaru" was also made. A statue of Hachiko was built at Shibuya Station in 1934 and in front of the main hall in 1935. Currently, the statue standing in front of the front entrance of the Ōkan City Tourism Exchange Facility "Akita Inu no Sato" was rebuilt in 1987. The figure sitting with both ears is adorable.
