Taishio Onsen communal bathhouse

A museum nestled on the shores of Lake Numazawa, featuring fairy dolls, paintings and picture books from around the world, collected by Kimie Imura, who is known for his writings on Celtic relations. It takes 20 minutes.

A roughly circular lake with a circumference of about 7km located within the Echigo Sanzan Tadami National Monument. It is a caldera lake created by a volcanic eruption about 5600 years ago, surrounded by beech and mizunara forests, and has a mysterious atmosphere in all seasons. The water depth is 96m at the deepest point, and the lake is inhabited by the shrimp trout. In the surrounding area, there is a natural observation education forest of Lake Nujiri and an auto campsite, which is ideal for enjoying the outdoors. A fairy museum also stands on the lakeside. Because of the great snake legend, the "Numazawa Lake Festival" is held on the first Saturday and Sunday of August every year.

Two small hot water huts stand facing each other across the Nojiri River. The Tamanashi Onsen communal bathhouse is divided into single-sex bathhouses, and the hot water is about 45 degrees Celsius. The Hachimachi Onsen communal bathhouse, also known as Kamenoyu, is an old-fashioned mixed bathing style, with the hot water of both sources.
