In the year of Kenji 2 (1276), the Omotoyama of the Nichiren sect, whose apprentice Hike [Nike] erected the Ichū at the birthplace of the Nichiren saint. There are many attractions in the precincts, such as the main hall where the statue of the Jukai Honto tree, which was donated by Mitsukuni Tokugawa [Mitsukuni], is enshrined, and the Soshido, which is supported by 52 thick zelkova pillars.
