Wavebuo Port

There is still a small townscape of old wooden houses in the port of Wauki, and the neighborhood on the east side of the port is referred to as "Odoriko no Sato". The old port inns on the hillside are preserved and exposed as they were at the time as a materials house. He is known for performing art by the traveling troupe of "Izu no Odoriko", and he recreates the appearance of a gorgeous old-fashioned feast using dolls. The three-story building, built and wooden building, is a rare piece of architecture on a windy Oshima island. The old Jinno Maru residence, the site of the Meiji-era Amigen residence on the hill behind it, is two stories of stone construction. You can catch a glimpse of the powerful life, such as the outer wall of the Namako wall, the beams and columns crossed with wood from outside the island, and the outer wall of Oya stone.

Before the birth of Izu Ōshima, a remnant of an old volcanic island that was active here until hundreds of thousands of years ago. The island, which had finished its volcanic activity, was eventually cut into waves, leaving hard rocks that had been caked by magma paths stranded in the sea. The gray streak, which is visible on the cliff opposite Shushima, is after the magma breaks through the earth (dike).
