It is located at the westernmost point of Green Ward, Yokohama, with the highest elevation of the mountain in the ward. On the top of the mountain, "Iizuna [Izuna] Shrine", a god of sericulture known locally as "Takao-sama", is enshrined, and a festival is held every year in early April by the local residents' goshiko. Although it has an altitude of about 100m, it is designated as a green ward heritage site, with the view of Mt. Fuji, the Tanzawa Mountains, and the mountains of Chichibu. In addition, it is one of the Nagatsuda Tokkei as "Takaobosetsu" in the image of a mountain with snow in the distance. In 1882, the first triangle point was installed, and the creation of a modern map of Japan with latitude and longitude began here. Some have said that the Eastern Conquest of Yamato Takeru, who departed Nara around 335 AD (around 97 AD in Nihon Shoki), stopped by.

It is an ancient temple that is said to have been the beginning of the time when Minori Hojo, the ancestor of Kanazawa Hojo, built a separate residence in this area that was called Mutsuuraso, and enshrined a Buddhist temple in it. The present-day Gagyin was rebuilt during the Edo period. The Jodo Garden, which is built by the red parapet Hirabashi (Hirabashi), was restored in 1987, based on Shōmeji Ezu. A statue of Maitreya (important cultural property, undisclosed), built by Kenji 2 (1276), is enshrined in the Kindo, which is located beyond the bridge.

Next to the Yamate Foreigner Cemetery, a park spread on the slopes along Yamate Hondori. In the center there is a pool, a walking trail and stairs in the green, and cherry blossoms are beautiful in the spring. In the early Meiji period, the natural water springing up from this area was sold as drinking water for foreign vessels, so it is also famous as "Gérard's branch plant and mizuyashiki". There is a monument to Western tiles, which was first baked by the Frenchman Gerard, and several other monuments. The Yamate 80th House is the only pre-quake foreign housing in Yokohama that was crumbled in the Great Kanto earthquake. In addition to this, "Elisman House", "Baerick Hall", and "Yamate 34th Bankan" can be toured.
