Daimon
The main gate of Koyasan Ichiyama, which has served as the main entrance since Kaesan. Go up the Omotesando on the town stone road that leads from Jison-in in Kudoyama-cho, and from here you will be Yamauchi. At the time of the rebirth, there was a tree-torii at the bottom of the valley in Kowlodani, 500m below the current position. The present-day Gate of Zhu Yue, which is about 25m high, was rebuilt in Hoei 2 (1705). A major demolition and repair was also carried out in 1986. The powerful, 4.8m-high statue of Kumgang, which stands on both legs of the Daimon, is said to have been built by the Amata statue by Yasunori Buddha and the Ungata statue by Hōhashi Yunchō. The view from here is good, and on a clear day you can see from the Kihana Strait to Awaji Island beyond the mountains. In addition, climbing about 600m from the red torii left of Daimon on the mountain path surrounded by primeval forest leads to Mt. Benten, the highest mountain in Koyasan.
