Kamiseki Fisheries

A roadside station with excellent freshness of fish and shellfish, fresh fruits and vegetables in Kamigeki town. It also sells processed products and local products. At the restaurant, you can enjoy strait cuisine using plenty of seasonal ingredients while watching the boats that cross the strait. Information Corner (Tourist Information Center), Kamigeki Fisheries and Michinoeki Store (Hatoko Tempura) and others are also well received within the roadside station.

The observatory stands on the summit of the highest peak of Nagashima, Mount Kamimori (315m altitude). From the roof of the white kerokodai-shaped building, you can enjoy 360-degree panoramas, including the Kamigeki Port and Kamigeki Bridge under your eyes, and on a clear day you can see up to Shikoku and Kyushu.

It was built in 1879 (Meiji 12), and is the oldest type of pseudo-yō-style architecture in Yamaguchi Prefecture. An elaborate structure unique to the land that flourished with maritime traffic with foreign countries. French stained glass remains on the windows, jet-black sculptures of Chinese lion peonies on the walls of the third floor, and phoenix jet-black sculptures on the ceiling of the fourth floor. In addition to the exhibition of materials about the four-story tower, the Kamigeki-cho Folk History Learning Hall, which is attached to the building, the history of Kamigeki-cho is presented with panels and footage.
