
Maizuru Park
Takanabe Castle was also called Maizuru Castle because of its terrain resembling the fluttering figure of a crane. During the Edo period, it was the residence of the Akizuki clan of the Takanabe clan, but it is now maintained as a historic site park. In the garden, there are "Takanakamachi Historical Archives" and "Kōjitei Hanare", which is a restored residence of the Akizuki family 11th-generation Tōjiki Tree, and about 500 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in the spring, which attracts a large number of flower visitors every year.
