A 9.8km-long toll road that can be climbed to the 8th station of Mount Iwaki. It runs on 69 curves surrounded by old-growth beech forest, and in about 25 minutes to the end point at an altitude of 1247m and the Sea of Japan. From here, we climb to the 9th station by a lift (10 minutes), and another 40 minutes walk to the top. In addition to the Shimokita Peninsula, the Tsugaru Peninsula and the Shirakami Mountains, Hokkaido can be seen on clear sunny days with clear air. Winter traffic closed.
