Evangelical Hall of the Goddess of the Maguta (Kitaka-Christos Orthodox Cathedral)
In 1892, a church cathedral was built in Kuta, Ōkan City. Among the surviving Orthodox Church of Christ, it is the oldest building in Japan for a single-story wooden church. It is modeled after Nikolai-do in Tokyo, Kanda, and is designated as a tangible cultural property of Akita Prefecture. In addition, inside the church is a collection of Meiji holy statue painter Rin Yamashita's Icons (Holy Picture Painting), which is designated as a tangible cultural property of the city of Ōkan.
