A small Jizo of six bodies with a red head and an forehang standing on Yuigahama Boulevard. 足利氏満[うじみつ]の命を受けた上杉氏定[うじさだ]が、空外[くうがい]を開山として応永元年(1394)に再建した臨済宗の寺。鎌倉三十三観音霊場の第二十六番札所。扇ガ谷の静かな住宅街にあり、カイドウをはじめ、梅、水仙、萩など花の寺としても名高い。境内には天明5年(1785)建立の庫裡や、浄智寺から移されたという仏殿、大正時代に再建された本堂などが立つ。山門前右手には鎌倉十井のひとつ底脱[そこぬけ]ノ井、左手奥の崖下に十六ノ井がある。
