The "Yosui-en Garden", located in the city of Wakayama, is a historic "daimyo garden", built from 1818 to 8 years.
The site was once used as a place for Tokugawa Jiho (Harutomi Tokugawa) to invite guests or to enjoy a rest; the site has an area of about 23,000 square meters (about 7,000 tsubo) and a large pond occupies about half of that area.
The name "yomui garden" means "green" of "pine tree" as "nurture" and "garden". It is a rare style called "Shio-iri", which directly draws in seawater, and the scenery changes with the rising tide.
