Ohara Gion Festival

On November 30, 2022, the "Fuyu Odori [Furyu Odori]", including the Kenketo dance of Takinoki Shrine, was listed as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Site. Six boys, about seven to 12 years old, wear vivid costumes and dance on drums and daib. It is a traditional one that has been danced since the middle of the Muromachi period, and is now designated as a national Selected Intangible Folk Cultural Property.

Hikiyama was dedicated for the first time in the mid-Edo period, and the current number of Hikiyama holdings is 16 units in the prefecture, as is Hino. On the 19th, it was the "Yoigiya Festival", where the shrine is decorated at Mizuguchi Shrine, and one Hikiyama enters the precinct in the evening. More than 100 night shops show the buzz, and in each town, lanterns are decorated at Hikiyama to make water flops.
