Ihatov Music Festival 2025

The "Flower and Green Festival" in 2026 will see a significant upgrade in plant sales, with a diverse array of plant shops gathering from all over Tohoku. Free workshops for making crafts with nuts and a free planting experience for children under elementary school age are recommended for families. Additionally, there will be the usual exhibitions and consultation sessions related to azaleas, roses, water stones, and sample gardens, as well as various workshops, mochi throwing, tea serving, free flower seedling distribution, a lottery, a stamp rally, and music and dance stages, making it a packed event for everyone. *Please note that content may change or be canceled.

The national weeping sumo tournament will be held as the spring place of the 12th power ceremony [Junibansu Mousashiki], which has been held on September 19 every year since about 300 years ago as a special ritual of Sankano Shrine. A brave festival in which naked men jure up the Su-min bag in the snow precinct, wishing for an evil remedy, a disease-free disaster and a good harvest of the five. The bag contains 365 pieces with zodiac signs. The men go down the approach while pushing the bag, and a piece is given to a person holding the mouth of the bag at the goal of the torii at the entrance of the approach.
